common cold affects

Influenza, commonly known as the flu, is an infectious disease that affects birds and mammals caused by RNA viruses of the family Orthomyxoviridae (the influenza viruses). The name influenza comes from the Italian: influenza, meaning "influence", (Latin: influentia). In humans, common symptoms of the disease are chills and fever, pharyngitis, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, weakness and general discomfort. In more serious cases, influenza causes pneumonia, which can be fatal, particularly in young children and the elderly. Although it is sometimes confused with the common cold, influenza is a much more severe disease and is caused by a different type of virus. Influenza can produce nausea and vomiting, especially in children, but these symptoms are more characteristic of the unrelated gastroenteritis, which is sometimes called "stomach flu" or "24-hour flu". day 2 of this horrid virus. someone save me.

I have the flu...can you tell?

Even some health professionals don't know what influenza is and mix it up with the common cold. The only way to ultimately differentiate flu from a cold is a nasal swab that tests for the presence of the influenza virus (requires quick intervention). Annually in the US 5 - 20% of the population get the disease, 200000 people are hospitalized and 36000 people die. That's like a good sized little town wiped off the map each year. Cape G is roughly that size. Lawrence is roughly twice that size...but they have Free State Beer, so they're not as likely to be affected (I could use some Big Sea ESB if anyone is headed this way!).

Foods that Alkalinize and Heal 1939 : Common questions on carrot juice

COMMON QUESTIONS ON CARROT JUICE 1. Is carrot juice taken raw, and if so, why are not raw carrots just as useful? Carrot juice is taken raw. The reason raw carrots are not as good as the juice itself is that the hard, coarse, fibrous material of raw carrots makes it impossible for the body to extract more than a fraction of their value. All of the wholesome elements of the carrots are secured in the juice and much larger quantities can be taken in liquid form without any comparative digestive strain or irritation. 2. How much carrot juice should be taken daily? One pint, taken between meals, appears to be the minimum daily requirement...
