So, for the last Snap Happy assignment, we're going on a bit of a road trip. I think we'll leave tonight, hit three of the stops, stay in Red Deer, and then hit the final two in the morning/afternoon. Total driving time for this escapade: 12 hours and 53 minutes. I've found a guy in St. Louis interested in riding up with me. That'll be a big help on gas, but I'm still looking for another rider, plenty of room in my extended cab. The plan: A to B: Leave Wednesday after work, staying at my Grandaddy's house overnight. Trip Time approx 6 hours B to C: Unknown the exact address yet. Leaving early Thursday morning arriving sometime after noon, probably between 1 and 4 pm. Trip Time approx 8 hours C to D: After a short stop to pick up my possible passenger, leaving for Chicago arriving sometime between 7 and 11 pm. Trip Time approx 5 hours.

This is the first photo I've posted in what feels like months (but probably weeks). I haven't had much motivation to shoot anything lately. It's some sort of depression phase I'm going through right now. Melissa was nice enough to get me out of the house by planning a road trip up North, to shoot some Fall colours. Since I took the Monday of my birthday off of work, I actually went in on both Saturday and Sunday before I left for my road trip. I did work the entire time I was supposed to but I also printed out some important trip information. These were the directions to get me from point A (Chicago) to point B (Washington D.C.) in careful detail. I only got lost once on the way there - in Lancaster I missed a turnoff. If only I hadn't lost the one for the way home. I got lost more than once coming back.

My wife and I have finished up our work in DC and before taking off back to Australia to look for work, we have set aside two months to try to get in the last 20 states of the US that we haven't yet seen. As we have given up our apartment and sold all our furniture I am technically unemployed and homeless, carry with me what I own which is an odd but quite liberating feeling.
